Regular Season Round 5: Peja - H.Be'er Sheva 88-89

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kosovan Peja (4-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by Israeli Hapoel Beer Sheva (5-0) 89-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Peja. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hapoel Beer Sheva dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Peja's 32. American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American-Nigerian guard David Efianayi (188-1995, college: Gardner-Webb) chipped in 17 points. Hapoel Beer Sheva's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Rodney Purvis (193-1994, college: UConn) responded with 26 points and the other American import center Khaliq Spicer (206-1994, college: Kent St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Hapoel Beer Sheva and four Peja players scored in double figures. Hapoel Beer Sheva have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Peja at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
