No shocking result in a game when second ranked Girona (12-2) crushed bottom-ranked Tenerife (2-13) in San Cristobal 96-59 on Friday. Girona forced 27 Tenerife turnovers. American point guard Brittney Sykes (175-1994, college: Syracuse) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Maria Araujo (188-1997) supported her with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by American center Kai James (196-1995, college: FSU) did not help to save the game for Tenerife. Slovakian Terezia Palenikova (178-1995) added 17 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona have an impressive six-game winning streak.
