Very important is a home loss of second ranked Kavkasia (8-2) against seventh ranked Batumi (4-6) on Friday night. Host Kavkasia was crushed by Batumi in Tbilisi 99-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kavkasia. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Kavkasia 53-29 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Batumi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kyle Riddley (192-1996, college: Pfeiffer) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Ioseb Gognadze (205-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds. American guard Chris McNeal (185-1997, college: Cincinnati) produced 12 points and the other American import guard Justin Forrest (188, college: App State) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Kavkasia's coach Beqa Tsivtsivadze gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Batumi maintains seventh place with 4-6 record, which they share with Kutaisi. Newly promoted Kavkasia still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Cactus.
