Regular Season Round 11: Cactus - Olimpi 68-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Cactus (8-2) in Tbilisi on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Olimpi (7-3) 96-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Cactus. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpi. Cactus managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cactus to just 6 points in first quarter. Strangely Cactus outrebounded Olimpi 51-35 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Cactus' players. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for point guard Dru Kuxhausen (183-1998, college: N.Colorado) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Linton Acliese III (198-1998, college: EWU) helped adding 28 points and 5 rebounds. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Power forward Jason Copman (198-1998, college: Dominican, NY) responded with 8 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Miles Daniels (190, college: UTPB) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpi maintains third place with 7-3 record behind leader Cactus. Cactus at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. They share it with Kavkasia.
