There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Treviso (5-8) beat at home higher ranked Venezia (7-6) 100-93 on Monday. Treviso shot 61.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-1986, college: Arkansas St.) fired 32 points and 5 assists for the winners. Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. International point guard Marco Spissu (184-1995) produced 21 points and 5 assists and the former international power forward Amedeo Tessitori (207-1994) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Treviso and five Venezia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Treviso have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Verona and Sassari. Loser Venezia dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Treviso will meet higher ranked Pesaro (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Venezia will play against Verona and hope to secure a win.
