Regular Season Round 13: Scafati - Napoli 96-61
Date: January 2, 2023
Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Scafati (6-7) smashed at home 15th ranked Napoli (4-9) 96-61 on Monday. Scafati made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Scafati outrebounded Napoli 38-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Scafati looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Napoli's players. American power forward Kruize Pinkins (203-1993, college: USF) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Nigerian-American Stan Okoye (198-1991, college: VMI) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Scafati players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican point guard Jordan Howard (180-1996, college: Cent Arkansas) produced 14 points and 4 assists and American center JaCorey Williams (203-1994, college: MTSU) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Scafati moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Brindisi. Napoli lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Trieste. Scafati will meet Trieste (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Napoli will play against the league's leader Milano having rather not much hope for a victory.
