Regular Season Round 15: Athena - Tindastoll 73-70

Eighth-ranked Tindastoll (2-12) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Athena (6-7) in Reykjavík. Athena managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected easier game. Tindastoll was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Tindastoll was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Asa Wolfram (176-2005) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian-American guard Nerea Brajac (173-1999, college: Georgian Court) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Athena players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian-Hungarian power forward Emese Vida (190-1993) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and American forward Jayla Johnson (188, college: EKU) scored 31 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Athena have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Tindastoll lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Athena will play against league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tindastoll will have a break next round.
