Regular Season Round 15: Keflavik - Njardvik 78-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Keflavik. First ranked Keflavik faced 4th placed Njardvik. Host Keflavik (14-1) defeated guests from Njardvik (8-7) 78-67. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 54-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Keflavik forced 32 Njardvik turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Keflavik's coach Hordur Vilhjalmsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (187-1997) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Keflavik have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Njardvik lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face Breidablik (#7) in Kopavogur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Njardvik will play at home against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
