Regular Season Round 15: GTK - Twarde Pierniki 90-85

Rather predictable result in Gliwice where twelfth ranked GTK (6-9) defeated bottom-ranked Twarde Pierniki (3-11) 90-85 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GTK made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian-American point guard Earl Rowland (189-1983, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Kamari Murphy (206-1993, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Stefan Kenic (204-1997, college: Chattanooga) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Vasa Pusica (196-1995, college: Northeastern) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. GTK moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Arka. Loser Twarde Pierniki stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. GTK will meet at home higher ranked MKS DG (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Twarde Pierniki will play against Trefl (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
