Regular Season Round 18: Toulouse - Poitiers 79-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Toulouse (10-8) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Poitiers (9-9) 84-79 on Friday. Poitiers made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Ivorian point guard Maxence Dadiet (192-1999) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Cedric Andre (202-1993) scored 17 points. Toulouse's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Poitiers maintains eighth position with 9-9 record, which they share with Besancon and Rueil. Toulouse at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Poitiers will meet at home higher ranked Lorient (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toulouse will play against Rueil and hope to secure a win.
