Regular Season Round 18: Besancon - Pont-de-Cheruy 92-78

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked SOPCC (10-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Besancon (9-9) 92-78 on Friday. Besancon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Mykal Riley (198-1985, college: Alabama) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Sydney Hawmmond (214-2000) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Besancon's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese Yasmin Mambo (205-2002) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jacques Eyoum (195-2000) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four SOPCC players scored in double figures. Besancon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rueil and Poitiers. SOPCC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Besancon will meet Kaysersberg (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SOPCC will play against Pontoise (#11) and hope to secure a win.
