Everything went according to plan when second ranked Almeria (9-3) outplayed at home 10th ranked Benahavis (3-8) 91-71 on Saturday. Senegalese center Khadim Fall (205-2000) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American swingman Edwin Cole (203, college: Frostburg St.) accounted for 22 points. Four Almeria players scored in double figures. Almeria's coach David Bernardez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Pedro Lopez (187-2000) came up with 23 points and guard Adrian Mayor (193-1996) added 16 points respectively for Benahavis in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Almeria. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with La Leonesa and Marin. Loser Benahavis keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Almeria will meet Marbella (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Benahavis will play against Murgi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
