The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Milano as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Milano defeated 13th ranked Ponzano at home 76-58. Guard Elisabetta Penz (170-1996) stepped up and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and swingman Susanna Toffali (174-1998) chipped in 14 points. Four Milano players scored in double figures. Milano's coach Franz Pinotti allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Swedish swingman Amanda Tivenius (182-1996, college: CS Fullerton) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Sara Iuliano (168-2001) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Udine and Scrivia. Ponzano lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Ponzano will play next round against Bolzano BC trying to get back on the winning streak. Milano will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Udine at home.
