Regular Season Round 8: Angers - Toulouse 85-77

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Angers and 11th ranked Toulouse had identical 2-5 record. This time Angers used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Toulouse 85-77. Angers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Toulouse's 30. They outrebounded Toulouse 38-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Angers players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Jasmine Bailey (176-1990, college: UIC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Kekelly Elenga (184-1991) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Angers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by American point guard Kyra Lambert (175-1996, college: Texas) did not help to save the game for Toulouse. Isabelle Strunc (180-1991) added 17 points for the guests. Five Angers and four Toulouse players scored in double figures. Angers (3-5) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Toulouse lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Angers will play against higher ranked Villeneuve (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toulouse will play against Tarbes (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
