Very predictable result when second ranked Polkowice (10-3) smashed on the road 10th ranked Bydgoszcz (1-12) 90-66 on Saturday. Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Bydgoszcz's 14. They outrebounded Bydgoszcz 55-25 including a 28-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international center Weronika Telenga (192-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American center Stephanie Mavunga (191-1995, college: Ohio St., agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Polkowice players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Karina Michalek (180-1993) who recorded 15 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Zuzanna Krupa (187-2001) added 17 points respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Polkowice. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Gorzow Wlkp. Bydgoszcz lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Polkowice will meet at home league's leader Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bydgoszcz will play against Pruszkow (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
