There was no surprise in Caceres where 16th ranked Cordoba (2-15) was defeated by fifth ranked Al-Qazeres (10-6) 70-60 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Celia Garcia-Panuero (180-1995, college: UIW) who scored 26 points. American guard Kate Andersen (175-1997, college: Portland) chipped in 13 points. Hungarian power forward Zsofia Licskai (189-1993) produced 11 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Camille Zimmerman (185-1995, college: Columbia) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al-Qazeres have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 10-6 record, which they share with Paterna. Cordoba lost thirteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Al-Qazeres will meet at home Real Canoe (#9) in the next round. Cordoba will play against Paterna (#6) and hope to secure a win.
