Regular Season Round 10: Montbrison - Calais 88-45

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Montbrison (7-3) smashed at home 10th ranked Calais (3-7) 88-45 on Saturday. Montbrison made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Calais turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Montbrison especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American swingman Nukiya Mayo (190-1998, college: Towson) scored 27 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Carla Bremaud (180-1999, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Shakayla Thomas (180-1996, college: FSU) responded with 16 points and Nigerian center Blessing Ejiofor (196, college: WVU) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Montbrison moved-up to second place, which they share with Feytiat. Loser Calais keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Mondeville. Montbrison will meet at home league's second-placed Feytiat in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Calais will play against SIG (#9) in llkirch-Graff. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
