Everything went according to plan when second ranked Socuellamos (9-2) defeated on the road 9th ranked Rivas (5-6) 77-64 on Sunday. American guard Khion Sankey (196-1992, college: Lipscomb) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Adrian Tato (190-2000) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Alberto Torres (201-1998, college: Iowa Wesleyan) came up with 13 points (made all of his eight free throws) and power forward Angel Gomez (197-1987) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Rivas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Socuellamos. They maintain second place with 9-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Huelva CD, which they share with Llucmajor. Rivas lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Socuellamos will meet at home Aridane (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
