Regular Season Round 13: Baerum Basket - Nidaros Jets 148-83

There was no surprise in Bekkestua where 11th ranked Nidaros Jets (2-17) were outplayed by sixth ranked Baerum Basket (10-7) 148-83 on Sunday. Baerum Basket shot 64.2 percent from the field. They also forced 29 Nidaros Jets turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 24 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Baerum Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Nidaros Jets' players. The former international guard Stian Mjoes (183-1989) fired 56 points (!!!), 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international forward Sjur Dyb Berg (201-1996, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Jakob Baiden (194-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Brage Sorensen added 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Baerum Basket. They moved-up to fifth place. Nidaros Jets lost their tenth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Baerum Basket will meet Froya Basket (#6) in the next round. Nidaros Jets will play against Fyllingen (#3) and hope to secure a win.
