Regular Season Round 15: Melilla - Albacete 61-70

There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Melilla (4-11) was defeated at home by seventeenth ranked Albacete (4-11) 70-61 on Sunday. It was a great evening for forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Gerard Blat (185-1997) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Bamba Fall (215-1986, college: SMU, agency: Players Group) with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Guillermo Mulero (191-1997) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Melilla's coach Oscar Lata rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Albacete moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Melilla and Oviedo. Albacete will meet at home higher ranked Valladolid (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Melilla will play against Caceres (#17) and hope to secure a win.
