Regular Season Round 15: Barca CBS - Gernika 64-61

The most exciting game of round 15 in the LF Endesa took place in Barcelona. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Gernika (9-7) to seventh ranked Barca CBS (8-7) 64-61 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gernika. They outrebounded Gernika 38-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Canadian center Ruth Davis (198-1994, college: Oregon St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Jolene Anderson (173-1986, college: Wisconsin) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Barca CBS's coach Isaac Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Roso Buch (179-1992) with 15 points and Italian swingman Laura Spreafico (183-1991, agency: LBM Management) scored 14 points. Newly promoted Barca CBS maintains seventh place with 8-7 record. Gernika at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Araski. Barca CBS are looking forward to face league's leader Girona on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gernika will play against Avenida (#3) in Salamanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
