Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Tenerife and 5th ranked Unicaja had identical 10-4 record. This time Tenerife used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Malaga 91-84 on Sunday night. Tenerife made 25-of-26 free shots (96.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). International guard Jaime Fernandez (186-1993) helped adding 23 points (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian center David Kravish (207-1992, college: California) with 8 points and 8 rebounds and American Tyler Kalinoski (193-1992, college: Davidson) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tenerife maintains fourth place with 11-4 record. Loser Unicaja keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Joventut. Tenerife are looking forward to face Zaragoza (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Unicaja will play against Rio Breogan (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
