Regular Season Round 16: Mantova - Nardo 95-84

There was an upset when higher ranked Nardo (8-8) lost to twelfth ranked Mantova (6-10) in Mirandola 84-95 on Sunday. The winners were led by American point guard Anthony Miles (184-1989, college: Lamar) who scored that evening 38 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the other American import forward LaQuinton Ross (203-1992, college: Ohio St.) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by Serbian swingman Vojislav Stojanovic (199-1997) did not help to save the game for Nardo. Point guard Matteo Parravicini (187-2001) added 17 points for lost side. Four Nardo players scored in double figures. Mantova moved-up to tenth place. Loser Nardo keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Ferrara. Mantova will meet San Severo (#11) on the road in the next round. Nardo will play against Ravenna (#13) and hope to secure a win.
