The game with biggest difference of round 16 was host Kouvottaret's (6-10) easy victory at home over higher ranked Torpan Pojat (9-7) 82-61 on Monday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-61. Kouvottaret looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Nikki McDonald (183-1996, college: Georgia South) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Heta Aijanen (186-1995) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Kouvottaret players scored in double figures. American forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) produced 22 points and 5 assists and power forward Saana Kujala (184-2002) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kouvottaret moved-up to seventh place, which they share with ViVe. Torpan Pojat lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Pyrinto. Kouvottaret is looking forward to face league's leader Peli-Karhut in Kotka in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Torpan Pojat will play at home against Forssan Alku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
