The most exciting game of round 15 in the D1 took place in Reykjavik. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Armann (5-8) to fifth ranked KR (7-6) 66-65 on Monday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. KR dominated on the defensive end, holding Armann to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a good game for power forward Hulda Bergsteinsdottir (180-1999) who saved her team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Violet Morrow (176-1997, college: EWU, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Morrow is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Hildur Karadottir (180-1999) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jonina Karlsdottir (170-1999) added 6 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Armann. KR maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Armann lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. KR are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Breidablik B (#9) in Kopavogur in the next round. Armann will play at home against Hamar and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
