Second Stage Round 1: Duga - Vojvodina 021 47-73

The most interesting game of round 1 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Sabac where Vojvodina 021 outleveled host Duga 73-47. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Duga. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 26 points. Vojvodina 021 dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Duga's 18. They outrebounded Duga 41-24 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Shareka McNeill (168-1999, college: NC A&T) fired 29 points for the winners. Guard Tina Selakovic (182-2000) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Vojvodina 021's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Olga Stepanovic (180-1994) produced 16 points and center Tijana Jelic (191-1999, agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Vojvodina 021 is looking forward to face Zagreb at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Duga will play against Orlovi in Banja Luka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
