There was no surprise in Ostersund where 6th ranked Sodertalje (9-11) was crushed by third ranked Jamtland (14-5) 101-68 on Thursday. Jamtland made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game, while Sodertalje only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Sodertalje 37-21 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jamtland looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Sodertalje's players. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American power forward RT Guinn (208-1981, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Landrius Horton (193-1998, college: Columbus St.) who added 16 points during the contest. Jamtland's coach Adnan Cuk felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Josh Sharkey (175-1997, college: Samford) with 17 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import point guard Walt Kelser (183, college: Ferris St.) scored 19 points. Five Jamtland and four Sodertalje players scored in double figures. Jamtland have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Sodertalje dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Jamtland will meet Uppsala (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sodertalje will play against Norrkoping and hope to secure a win.
