A very close game took place in Barcelona between Igualada and Barca 2. Thirteenth ranked Igualada (4-9) got a very close victory on the road over second-ranked Barca 2 (10-3). Igualada managed to escape with a 2-point win 62-60 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Barca 2. They outrebounded Barca 2 42-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Eduard Tejero (196-1992) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Salvador Farres (195-1999) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Igualada's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Martin Iglesias (202-2004, agency: BIG) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Kasparas Jakucionis (187-2006) added 12 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Igualada moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Barca 2 still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Igualada will meet higher ranked Granollers (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
