Regular Season Round 17: RO SAzzurra - Piacenza 92-87

There was an upset in Roma where higher ranked Piacenza (8-8) was defeated by thirteenth ranked RO SAzzurra (2-12) 92-87 on Saturday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Duane Wilson (190-1994, college: Texas A&M) who scored 22 points and 5 assists. Forward Samuel Givens (197-1989, college: Drexel) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. RO SAzzurra's coach Luca Bechi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Brady Skeens (202-1995, college: Washburn, agency: One Motive Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Kameron McGusty (196-1997, college: Miami, FL) added 25 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. RO SAzzurra moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Rieti Kienergia. Loser Piacenza dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Milano Urania. RO SAzzurra will meet at home Rieti Kienergia (#12) in the next round. Piacenza will play against Milano Urania (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
