A very close game took place in Reims between Chartres and Champagne. Fourth ranked Chartres (7-4) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Champagne (5-6). Chartres managed to escape with a 1-point win 64-63 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for American-Nigerian forward Nicole Enabosi (183-1997, college: Delaware) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Sophia Elenga (185-1995, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Chartres players scored in double figures. Power forward Stepha MBaye (181-1995, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Mathilde Domenger (171-2001) added 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Champagne in the defeat. Chartres moved-up to third place, which they share with Montbrison and Monaco. Loser Champagne keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Aulnoye. Chartres will meet league's second-placed Feytiat on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Champagne will play against Montbrison (#3) and hope to secure a win.
