Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Start 2 (1-18) was outscored by twelfth ranked Slask (9-10) in Lublin 108-68 on Sunday. Slask dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2's 30. Slask forced 22 Start 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-26 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Start 2's players. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian center Edis Korman (211-2001) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Maciej Bender (211-1997, college: Mercer) accounted for 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Sebastian Walda (196-2000) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Wiktor Kepka (194-2003) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Start 2 in the defeat. Five Slask and four Start 2 players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slask moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Polonia W-wa. Start 2 lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Slask will meet higher ranked Gornik (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Start 2 will play against Kotwica (#6) and hope to win that game.
