Regular Season Round 19: Krosno - Walbrzych 95-93

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gornik (13-6) against tenth ranked Miast Szkla (10-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Gornik was edged by Miast Szkla in a tough game in Krosno 93-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gornik. Miast Szkla players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Gornik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for naturalized American center Darrell Harris (205-1984, college: URI) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian center Klavs Dubults (203-1996) helped adding 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (211-1993) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Michal Sitnik (199-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Miast Szkla and five Gornik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Miast Szkla moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Opole and Pelplin. Gornik at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Tychy. Miast Szkla will play against AZS PO (#10) in Opole in the next round. Gornik will play at home against Slask (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
