There was no surprise in Badalona where 9th ranked Joventut 2 (4-7) was outplayed by third ranked Mataro UE (11-2) 82-62 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was forward Jordi Juanola (196-1998) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Pol Canovas (203-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mataro UE players scored in double figures. Guard Conrad Martinez (182-2005) produced 21 points and Portuguese forward Ruben de Oliveira (202-2005) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro UE have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Vic and Chantada. Joventut 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Marbella and Torta del Casar. Mataro UE will meet Quart-Germans C (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
