Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Matelica (1-13) was outscored on the road by sixth ranked Fiorenzuola (9-6) 89-61 on Sunday. Fiorenzuola dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Matelica's 16 and made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Matelica 48-29 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fiorenzuola looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Giulio Casagrande (197-1993) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Federico Ricci (196-1997) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Fiorenzuola players scored in double figures. Point guard Davide Paglia (191-2001) came up with 19 points and naturalized Senegalese center Fadilou Seck (207-1997, agency: Players Group) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Matelica in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fiorenzuola moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Matelica keeps the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Fiorenzuola will meet league's leader Rieti Real on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
