There was no surprise when 8th ranked Katarzynki (5-9) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Arka Gdynia (10-5) 95-69 on Sunday. Arka Gdynia outrebounded Katarzynki 43-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Katarzynki's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Magdalena Szymkiewicz (180-2002) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and international center Kamila Borkowska (201-2002) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Arka Gdynia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Alexis Jones (175-1994, college: Baylor) responded with 17 points and the former international Angelika Stankiewicz (170-1995) scored 17 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arka Gdynia moved-up to third place. Loser Katarzynki keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Wroclaw. Arka Gdynia will meet Polonia W-wa (#7) in the next round. Katarzynki will play against the league's second-placed Polkowice and hope to secure a win.
