Regular Season Round 15: IA - Fjolnir 73-74

The biggest surprise of round 15 in D1 was guest Fjolnir's (6-9) road victory over 7th ranked IA (5-10) 74-73 on Monday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IA won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). Swedish forward Simon Fransis (201-1995, college: Webber) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian Marko Jurica (194-1996) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Anders Adersteg (197-1995) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Four IA players scored in double figures. Fjolnir have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hrunamenn. IA lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Fjolnir is looking forward to face higher ranked Sindri (#3) in Hofn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. IA will play on the road against Hrunamenn (#7) in Fludir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
