Regular Season Round 15: Sindri - Armann 95-88 OT

Ninth-ranked Armann (3-6) made lots of trouble for third ranked Sindri (10-5) in Hofn on Monday. Sindri managed to secure only seven-point victory 95-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Armann was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Sindri, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-6. Sindri made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Tyler Stewart (203-1998, college: SFU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Spanish guard Ismael Herrero (188-1996) helped adding 7 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Arnor Hermannsson (192-1998) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and American center William Thompson (203-1993, college: Felician) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. Five Armann players scored in double figures. Sindri maintains third place with 10-5 record having just three points less than leader Alftanes. Newly promoted Armann keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Sindri will meet Fjolnir (#6) in the next round. Armann will play against Thor AK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
