No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Vilpas (12-9) defeated on the road 10th ranked Lahti (7-14) 95-84 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Vilpas. Lahti managed to win second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilpas forced 20 Lahti turnovers. Strangely Lahti outrebounded Vilpas 46-24 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Quentin Goodin (193-1997, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 assists for the winners and forward KeyShawn Feazell (206-1998, college: Creighton) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Vilpas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech) with a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists and guard Michael Ertel II (188-1999, college: UAB) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Lahti's coach Pieti Poikola tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vilpas maintains fourth place with 12-9 record. Loser Lahti keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Honka. Vilpas will meet at home bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lahti will play against the league's second-placed Seagulls in Helsinki and hope to secure a win.
