No shocking result in a game when second ranked Andorra (15-2) won against at home 6th ranked Gipuzkoa (10-7) 72-67 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Andorra made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Marin Maric (211-1994, college: DePaul, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Brazilian point guard Rafael Luz (186-1992, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Andorra players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Jaworski (190-1999, college: Lafayette) produced 19 points and 4 assists and guard Xavi Oroz (192-1996) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Andorra maintains second place with 15-2 record behind leader Palencia. Gipuzkoa at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Coruna. Andorra will meet at home Castello (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa will play against Ourense (#13) and hope to secure a win.
