The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Union Rennes (15-5) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Poitiers (11-9) 86-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union Rennes. Poitiers forced 19 Union Rennes turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and Canadian-Nigerian guard Keith Omoerah (194-1992, college: Manitoba, agency: BIG) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Poitiers players scored in double figures. Poitiers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Sebastien Cape (185-1993) responded with 14 points and 8 assists and naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahima Sidibe (180-1995) scored 18 points. Poitiers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Union Rennes at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Poitiers is looking forward to face higher ranked Vendee Challans (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Union Rennes will play against C'Chartres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
