Regular Season Round 18: Tsmoki II - Grodno 72-81

There was no surprise in Minsk where 5th ranked Tsmoki II (6-11) was defeated by second ranked Grodno (14-5) 81-72 on Saturday. Grodno made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Serbian guard Dusan Majstorovic (196-1995, college: Maine) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maksim Sazonov (198-1996) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Grodno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ivan Terehov (199-2003) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Nazar Guliev (201-2002) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Tsmoki II's coach Georgiy Kondrusevich rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Grodno have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record having just two points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Loser Tsmoki II dropped to the fourth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Impuls BGUIR. Grodno will meet league's leader Borisfen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsmoki II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Impuls BGUIR.
