Regular Season Round 13: Apollon P. - AEK 61-69

There was no surprise in Patras where 10th ranked Apollon P. (3-10) was defeated by sixth ranked AEK (8-5) 69-61 on Saturday. American forward Isaiah Miles (203-1994, college: St.Joseph's) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) chipped in 4 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international center Georgios Bogris (210-1989) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190-1998, college: Nebraska) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AEK moved-up to third place, which they share with Peristeri and Kolossos HH. Apollon P. lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Ionikos. AEK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri.
