Regular Season Round 3: Astrali - Dinamo 89-62
Date: January 21, 2023
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tbilisi: Astrali (#1) and Dinamo (#7). Astrali (3-0) crushed visiting Dinamo (0-2) by 27 points 89-62. Astrali forced 20 Dinamo turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward John Kerr (201-1999, college: NMU, agency: Dreamer Sports Agency) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Jamal Wright (179-1997, college: High Point) accounted for 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American Antonio Alcorn (-1996) came up with 17 points and center Valerian Tsuleiskiri (202-1999) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Dinamo in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astrali will meet Orbi (#4) in the next round. Dinamo will play against Orbi and hopes to get finally their first victory.
