Rather expected game in Krakow where 10th ranked Korona (7-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Rybnik (10-8) 89-78 on Saturday. Rybnik dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Korona's 48. They outrebounded Korona 44-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rybnik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Korona's players. Center Adam Andula (201-1987) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Marcin Kosiorowski (181-2005) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Szymon Sobiech (198-2002) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Mateusz Orlowski (187-2006) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Four Korona players scored in double figures. Korona's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rybnik maintains seventh position with 10-8 record. Loser Korona keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Ostrow Mazow. and Gliwice 2. Rybnik will meet at home Tarn.Gory (#9) in the next round. Korona will play against the league's second-placed Przemysl where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
