Very expected game when 9th ranked Gorizont 2 (1-15) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Gomel (8-8) 80-66. Gomel players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Gorizont 2's players. Forward Valeria Petrova (171-2006) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Yana Paraschenko (177-2005) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Alisa Borschevskaya came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Alisa Liskova (167-2006) added 17 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Gorizont 2 in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gomel maintains fifth place with 8-8 record. Gorizont 2 lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Gomel will play against higher ranked BDU Tsmoki (#4) in Minsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gorizont 2 will play at home against Victoria (#6) to get more than just one victory in their record.
