The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chalon/Saor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chalon/Saor defeated 14th ranked ALM Evreux at home 77-64. They outrebounded ALM Evreux 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Damien Bouquet (196-1994) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and the former international guard Antoine Eito (188-1988) who added 11 points and 7 assists during the contest. Chalon/Saor's coach Savo Vucevic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Tommy Ghezala (184-1992) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and DR Congolese-American guard Christian Lutete (196-1996, college: UMass Lowell) scored 13 points. Chalon/Saor have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. ALM Evreux at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with ten games lost. ALM Evreux will play next round against ASA trying to get back on the winning streak. Chalon/Saor will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Chalons-Reims on the road.
