There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Crema (5-12) beat at home 9th ranked Moncalieri (6-11) 78-62 on Sunday. Crema made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Moncalieri turnovers. American swingman Jasmine Dickey (175-2000, college: Delaware, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Guinean forward Masseny Kaba (191-1998, college: UCF) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Kathryn Westbeld (190-1996, college: Notre Dame) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Chelsea Mitchell (175-1997, college: Morgan St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Moncalieri players scored in double figures. Moncalieri's coach Marco Spanu rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Crema maintains eleventh place with 5-12 record. Moncalieri lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Faenza. Crema will meet higher ranked Venezia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Moncalieri will play against Sassari (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
