There was a minor upset when 13th ranked San Miniato (5-10) lost on the road to sixteenth ranked Matelica (2-13) 65-61 on Sunday. The winners were led by point guard Antonio Gallo (182-2000, agency: Players Group) who scored that evening 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Alberto Provvidenza (198-1998) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Matelica's coach Lorenzo Cecchini used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) by power forward Daniel Ohenhen (200-2001) did not help to save the game for San Miniato. Guard Niccolo Venturoli (196-2000) added 12 points for lost side. Matelica moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser San Miniato keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Matelica will meet higher ranked Ozzano (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. San Miniato will play against the league's leader Rieti Real having rather not much hope for a victory.
