Very important is a home loss of second ranked Battipaglia (10-5) against fifth ranked La Spezia (10-4) on Sunday night. Host Battipaglia was crushed by La Spezia in Battipaglia 85-59. It was a good game for guard Angelica Castellani (170-2000) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Martina Zolfanelli (171-1998) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four La Spezia players scored in double figures. Swingman Sarah Seka (177-2003) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Czech Anna Rylichova (180-1999) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Battipaglia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Spezia moved-up to third place. Battipaglia at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Matelica. La Spezia will play against San Salvatore (#7) on the road in the next round. Battipaglia will play against the league's leader Empoli and hopes to get back on the winning track.
