Regular Season Round 18: Tychy 2 - AGH 2 76-65

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Korona (7-11) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Tychy 2 (4-14) 76-65 on Sunday. Tychy 2 forced 21 Korona turnovers. Center Bartosz Chodukiewicz (212-2002) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Artur Ziaja (191-2000) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Tychy 2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Mohamed Abdelaal (207-1999, agency: Domantay Sports) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Bartosz Lesniak (176-2006) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Tychy 2 went down to fourteenth position due to points difference. Loser Korona keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Ostrow Mazow. and Gliwice 2. Tychy 2 will meet at home higher ranked Czeladz (#13) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Korona will play against the league's second-placed Przemysl where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
